Description Although the education of socially disadvantaged children is widely considered to be a crucial weapon against social inequalities, social science research in the subject of preschool as well as basic-school education proves that Czech educational system can significantly reproduce social disadvantages (Ivatts et. al. 2015; Gabal, Čada 2010). In last three decades, diverse educational programmes and projects for support of socially disadvantaged children initiated by NGOs as well as state authorities were developed in the Czech Republic. However, the evaluative criteria indicating the successful practices are always not very clear. Paper will be based on data from two expert focus groups (one national, the other European), that will be organized in May and June 2017. The participants will represent organizations focusing on educational programmes for socially disadvantaged children or families, as well as the other stakeholders, teachers, politicians etc. The main aim of the focus groups is to identify good practice in this field within both national and international context. This paper draws from a currently ongoing international project Inclusive Education and Social Support to Tackle Inequalities in Society,” supported by European Union in Horizon 2020 scheme. The paper will be based on data that will be gathered during May and June 2017.
