Description In this paper we continuethe evaluative research of the project teaching competencies of pre-service students in primary education at the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University. The research has been conductedregularly, each year after implementation of teaching projects by students into practice during their continuous student practice in the 4th year of their study program (Kratochvílová, 2006, 2007, 2011, 2014). In this paper our aims are to: a) describe the conditions for application of project in practice; b) map out the difficulties of students during project teaching; c) point out the benefits of the implemented project for students and d) compare the level of acquired competencies of students (teaching practicum outcomes) with the data obtained two years earlier. We particularlyfocused on the knowledge, skills and attitudes that students considered the least mastered and managedin the past. We used the mixed design, quantitative and qualitative analysis of student self-reflection. A quantitative questionnaire survey focuses on the evaluation of knowledge, skills, attitudes and experiences of students in the final stages of their education, after the implementation of a teaching project in practice. A quantitative data is supplemented by a qualitative analysis of the process and self-reflectionof project-based teachingdescribed by students. The results show the importance of introducing changes in the teaching based on the evaluation of the professional competencies of students and thus their professional development. The development of the diagnostic, intervention, psycho-didactic and didactic competenceis considered very valuable. Students find project planning and its implementation in practice asvery rewarding experience as two years ago.
