Description In our research, we have focused on identifying the current mental state of students at Brno University who regularly attended physical education sessions, in particular their subjective feelings of well-being. Our research was carried out in an aqua aerobics class with and without aqua aerobics accessories. This class is very popular with students and, beyond the aerobic effect, provides them with pleasant feelings associated with movement in the water, which many experience as very liberating. When moving in water, one is exposed to a range of factors. An individual’s pleasant feelings in the water depend on how their body responds to these factors. The body is exposed to water temperature and hydrostatic pressure. Much of the support and locomotor system is lightened, which greatly facilitates movement especially that of the spine and joints. Risk of injury in water is therefore reduced to minimum. Introducing new modern accessories makes the exercise more strenuous and thus makes the intended strengthening feasible. New accessories render the exercise, and by extension the lessons, more attractive.
