Description A lecture on the semantic and grammatical properties of verbs of referring to sources (VRS) studied on two corpora of English papers by native and non-native authors in humanities and social sciences. Factors that determine the choices of VRS have been tentatively identified to utilise the outcomes in teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
