Description A Role of Language within International Relations The broader idea of the study is to investigate the relations between two humanity disciplines of linguistics and international relations. The main reason for researching this area is to demonstrate and analyze how discourse can play a powerful role when creating global political, economical and cultural relations. The core focus is to provide a comprehensive demonstration of the intentional employment of specific language and an appropriate choice of linguistic concepts that have very profound and considerable impact on the formation of international relations. The presentation shall focus on the significance of a strategic use of discourse, i.e. mainly lexico-grammatical structures in contemporary global politics. A research method shall apply principals of the Critical Discourse Analysis. The presentation shall start with the introduction to the topic with a short characterisation of the disciplines, i.e. international relations and linguistics with focus on CDA. The main body of the presentation shall provide a case study on which an accurate demonstration of the above mentioned considerations could be seen. A case study would be represented by a current concrete international issue and would be based on the critical analysis of the discourse used within the official stances of the global actors regarding the situation. The conclusion shall summarize the analyzed data and their outcomes and provide conclusive remarks considering the initial intention, i.e. a strategic use of language within the arrangement of international relations.
