Description Teachers look for innovative educational methods for science gifted students who are integrated into mainstream classes. One of these educational methods is IBSE, which allows creating different conditions for students with special educational needs (including giftedness) and working with intellectually differentiated groups of students. The outcome of our design-based research is the finding that gifted students are developed by using of IBSE in a way that meets their special educational needs. Teachers are prepared in IBSE in the European project PROFILES.
