Description Graphing skills belong to key components of scientific literacy nowadays. This complex of skills is influenced mainly by the appearance of the graph, experience and knowledge of the student and the context in which the graph is used. Therefore, graphing skills should be taught not only within mathematics but also in other subjects. Despite this, most of the research focuses on graphing skills at mathematics and much less attention has been devoted to working with graphs at science. Therefore our aim was to test the level of chosen graphing skills in chemical context with Czech pupils at the end of lower secondary school and at the end of upper secondary school chemistry education and, at the same time, to capture the views of their teachers about working with graphs in teaching chemistry.
