Description The chapter characterizes pupils with autism spectrum disorders as one of the range of pupils educated in special schools. At the beginning, justification for the placement of the pupils in this particular type of school is stated and possible manifestations of their behaviour in the classroom are described. The chapter also contains classification of this group of pupils and description of the structured learning application in teachers' practice. Alternative communication systems and some therapies are also described. Theoretical knowledge is continuously complemented with the research results. At the end of the chapter, the analysis results on the needs of teachers in teaching students with autism spectrum disorders and parental satisfaction with education of their children are presented.
