| Description | The study examines the issue of research of ancient texts based on example of linguistic analysis of agreements concluded by John of Luxembourg, King of Bohemia and Poland, Count of Luxembourg. The linguistic research on medieval texts involves some difficulties. First, it requires knowledge of paleography, because it is necessary to compare the original text with its modern transcription in Latin characters. Furthermore, the manuscript of scribes is characterized by individual specifics and brachygraphy. Moreover, it is time-consuming, because the texts can be studied only on-site in the library or archive. |
