Description Motivation of students and teachers is one of the basic prerequisites of a successful education. In the case of science, technology and mathematics education is motivating of students currently the most important instrument of renewal of interest in these disciplines. Educational and psychological research confirms the importance of motivation. The aim of the European project PROFILES is to verify importance of motivation and especially to prepare science teachers for effective motivating of students. Effective motivating of students is realized through Inquire-Based Science Education (IBSE). The study presents the first research results of motivation using Delphi method. The system of training science teachers to use IBSE is complemented by a concrete example.
