Description In 2010 and 2011 the Department of Music (Faculty of Education, Masaryk University in Brno) conducted a nationwide extensive research based on the questionnaire addressed to all elementary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic, regarding the degree of multimedia using by teachers in music lessons (types and forms). This study is focused on using of computer technology (especially musical software for the PC platform) by teachers of music education at both types of schools. Based on the research results, which also monitored teachers' qualification and the musical skills, the author examines the current teaching trends, the role changing of the contemporary music teacher at school, which is more passive than in the past.
