About the department

Welcome to the website of the Department of Physical Education and Health Education at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University. The Department was established on the 1st of January 2016 by merging the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Health Education.

The Department teaches and prepares:

• experts on health education with orientation to education in the Bachelor’s Degree Programme
• teachers of health education in primary schools in the follow-up Master’s Degree Programme

The Department further participates in teaching students in the following programmes:

• Kindergarten Teacher Education
• Teacher Education for Lower Primary Schools
• Pedagogy

The Department also offers optional courses in sports activities and health-oriented activities to all students in full-time and part-time studies at Masaryk University.
