Based in the UK, BGU is a “small and friendly university” with focus expertise in education which prides itself “on being a supportive community, always striving to improve the lives of our students.”

Founded in 1862 as an Anglican teacher training college for women, it had evolved ever since into a fully-fledged institution. It achieved full university status in 2012. Currently, it is one of the largest Teacher Training providers in the UK. BGU received a GOLD-Rated Teaching award -Government-led Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) assessment-, putting it at the same level as Cambridge and Oxford.

PdF MU and BGU share strong focus areas such as practical classroom skills, innovative teaching practices and the pursuit of quality improvement and innovative processes of assessment.

JAMK provides a truly entrepreneurial learning environment bringing students and companies together. JAMK’s unique learning approach centres in offering competence-based learning outcomes, student-centred learning experience, and teacher-facilitator role.  The School of Professional Teacher Education offers post-degree programmes for professionals from different fields of expertise who aim for a career as educators.

JAMK has been awarded the Diploma Supplement Label 2013–2016, Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2014–2020 and Erasmus Golden Award for Excellence 2013.

PdF and JAMK share the drive for inclusion and the need to reframe teacher training curricula in order to ensure that study paths for all are valued and supported by their graduates- future teachers.

The College pursues a policy based on Christian values in pre-service teacher education as well as teacher professional development and advanced training in order to qualify and professionalise teachers in their subject-specific pedagogical fields and religious education.

PdF and KPH share the drive to make the campus environment diversity-friendly, and do collaborate on innovating teacher training curriculum through various interdisciplinary projects and ventures.
