Communication across Genres and Discourses

Brno, 11-12 September 2014

The Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Education, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic announces The Sixth Brno Conference on Linguistics Studies in English on the theme of Communication across Genres and Discourses, which will be held in Brno on 11-12 September 2014.

The Sixth Brno Conference will be dedicated to current trends and developments in English linguistics studies with a focus on communication in various genres and discourses. We welcome contributions on a wide range of linguistics topics, such as discourse analysis, stylistics, translation studies, pragmatics, genre analysis, hybrid types of discourse, and multi-media communication.

Selected contributions presented at the conference will be published in a thematic volume or in the linguistic journal Discourse and Interaction. Authors will receive a free copy of the respective publication. All participants will receive the thematic volume.

The full conference fee is CZK 1500 (€60) and it does not include accommodation.

If you wish to attend the conference, please complete the Online Registration Form on the website by 30 April 2014. If you wish to present a paper at the conference, please indicate the title on the registration form. Abstracts of 200-250 words should be sent to brno.conf.2014@ped.muni.cz by 30 May 2014 (in the subject of your email please include your name and the word "abstract"). Participants will be notified of acceptance by 30 June 2014.
