Research Groups at the Department of Education
The Department of Education is home to several research groups that explore different aspects of education and advance both theory and practice. The Department of Education conducts research related to the education of lower secondary school teachers, aiming to contribute to the quality of life in schools and society.
We carry out both basic educational research (e.g., in projects funded by the Czech Science Foundation), which advances knowledge, and specific university research conducted primarily by doctoral students (projects funded by the Masaryk University Grant Agency). Additionally, we engage in applied research (e.g., in projects funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic), which helps develop practical applications.
In our research projects, we employ both qualitative and quantitative methodological approaches. We specialize in multi-sited ethnography, narrative research, clean language methodology, mixed methods research, questionnaire adaptation, evaluation research, experimental designs, and more, depending on the nature of the topics studied.
