The conference serves as an opportunity for presenting innovative concepts, models and instruments in the pre-service as well as in-service teacher education in the context of trends in educational policy. Theoretical papers and research papers will be presented as well as descriptions of practical activities in teachers’ professional development.

Conference languages: German, English

The peer reviewed monographic publication will be published by LIT Verlag, Vienna – similarly to the volumes of two previous conferences held in Vienna in Years 2008 and 2009.

We kindly ask you to use the application form.
If you do not present a paper
apply before March 15, 2010.
Once your paper is accepted, you will receive a written notification by February 1, 2010. Participants make their application valid by paying the conference fee before March 31, 2010.
Please send the full paper to knecht@ped.muni.cz and Renate.Seebauer@PHWien.ac.at before March 8, 2010.  
Feel free to send us your complete text together with your application.  
Full papers submitted before March 8, 2010 will be published in a peer-reviewed monographic publication (see Instructions).  
Participants make their application valid by paying the conference fee before March 31, 2010.  




Formats of presentations

Papers and posters are the main formats of presentation to the conference.

For the presentation we welcome:

  1. Papers and posters focusing on theoretical explanations and critical analyses of different conceptions related to the thematic sessions of the conference
  2. Papers and posters presenting research findings addressing the topic of the thematic sessions of the conference
  3. Papers and posters presenting practical applications and approaches related to the thematic sessions of the conference
Paper
Paper is submitted by one person and may have up to five co-authors. Timing is normally 10-15 minutes for presentation and 5-10 minutes for discussion and questions from the audience. Papers should be submitted before March 8, 2010.

Poster
Poster is a graphical (+ verbal) presentation which will be continuously displayed at the conference. A poster is submitted by one author and could have up to five co-authors. Presenters will be asked to be available during the special Poster Session to answer questions of conference participants. Posters should be submitted before March 8, 2010.




Conference Fee

The conference fee is EUR 100,- per participant.

The fee includes:

  • Supporting documents
  • Reception (June 15th, evening)
  • Lunch (16th)
  • Publication
All participants are asked to transfer the conference fee via Masaryk University on-line Shoppingcenter. Payment by credit cards as well as the bank transfer are possible.

Publication

In the publication only papers that will meet following criteria will be accepted:

  • content correspondence to the conference theme,
  • the extent of the paper (5 pages) – see the Authors Guidelines,
  • paper acceptance declared by external peer reviewers, as well as Scientific Committee.
The publication will be published by LIT Verlag, Vienna – as the volumes of two previous conferences held in Vienna in Years 2008 and 2009. The publication will be available during the conference. Later orders will be proceed by LIT publishing company, Vienna.




Getting to Brno/Accommodation

Getting to Brno

Brno can be easily reached by train or by bus. There are frequent connections (buses, trains) from Vienna (140 km), Prague (220 km) and Bratislava (120 km) to Brno city centre (check the weblink http://jizdnirady.idnes.cz ).

Arriving from other countries: by plane via one of the three above-mentioned cities.
The Faculty of Education can be easily reached from the city centre. E.g. by tram no 2 - direction Modřice, Station Poříčí (5-10 minutes).

Accommodation

Please make your hotel reservation as soon as possible. The faculty is located outside of the city centre. A list of hotels within easy reach to the Faculty of Education is in the table below.
