Description This paper focuses on autism spectrum disorders, especially on Asperger syndrome and High-functioning autism. We point out that students with these diagnoses are also students with special educational needs and need support at schools. Because their intelligence level is in the average range, they should be educated in mainstream schools although it might not always be easy. The process of integration/inclusion depends on many factors such as student’s and parents’ wishes, possibilities of schools, counselling services, etc. The social skills of these students are often weak and may cause difficulties in educational settings. Many teachers are not sufficiently prepared to meet the special needs of these students.
