| Description | The exhibition titled "Secondary Concepts" at the UHAUS Gallery was thematically focused on the phenomenon of intergenerational (mis)understanding. The exhibition employed multimedia techniques, featuring drawings, ready-mades, interactive work with 8-bit photography, video, and texts. Using mostly traditional means, it addressed the aesthetics of contemporary internet culture, such as memes, digital editing of selfie photos, and similar elements. This created a contrast between old and new technology, perception of the world, and approach. For example, excerpts from classic Czech literary texts (such as works by Ladislav Klíma or Jan Ámos Komenský) were inserted into the format of internet memes, accompanied by drawings that imitated this internet aesthetic. The starting point for this mode of thinking was also an imaginary dialogue with the author's grandfather through a memory album and video, which ironically framed the entire intergenerational exchange. |
