Description The study presents a comparative research on curriculum documents of physical education in Norway and the Czech Republic. The research focuses on documents designed for primary education; in the case of the Norwegian curriculum, it is also necessary to take into account the higher grades. The text is presented in a chapter that puts the issue under consideration in a wider context, demonstrating its importance in the field. Subsequently, the author presents a methodology of comparative research, summarized in four interconnected steps. The result section describes the analysis of individual documents. As shown in the final part, the research has led us to several findings: the Norwegian curriculum aims at the orientation experience, cooperation, participation, while the performance is rather played down. Both the Norwegian and the Czech documents focus on the health and lifelong physical activity, but the Czech document lacks the well-defined educational objectives for physical education and show low congruence of educational goals and content. In contrast to the Norwegian curriculum, the Czech curriculum is inconsistent, which can negatively affect the quality of education.
