| Description | The article deals with selected Czech and foreign research studies which are focused on topics of social pedagogy. The aim of the study is not only to present a methodological design of presented research (especially highlighting methods of data collection and analysis) but also convey to readers the main research findings of these studies. Attention is paid not only to ways of spending leisure time but especially to the relationship of leisure time to both physical and mental health (the issue of stress, depression and human well-being will be discussed), as well as to the relationship between leisure time activities and socioeconomic status of families or the effect of parental controls on leisure time activities of their children. The topic of leisure time is in our conception an important part of social pedagogy which seeks to enhance the quality of people's everyday lives. At the same time, the quality of the leisure time is significantly involved in this process and therefore it is important to pay attention to this topic. |
