St. Nicolas event for students
Let's celebrate the traditional Czech winter holiday together!
The Faculty of Education at MU has made menstrual aids available free of charge. You can find them in the restrooms in the lobby of Poříčí 9 and in the Poříčí 31a building by the lockers in front of the library. They are intended for anyone who needs them at any given moment.
As of July 2025, you will find freely available menstrual supplies in the restrooms for all in the lobby of the Poříčí 9 building and also in the restrooms for all in the Poříčí 31a building (CVIDOS), specifically at the lockers in front of the library entrance. The aids are placed in marked boxes and are available for anyone who needs them (for example, if you do not have them with you or find yourself in an unexpected situation). The aids are replenished continuously.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to create an open, welcoming and dignified environment where everyone can feel safe. Menstruation is a normal part of life, and therefore the university space should also provide basic facilities that naturally take this into account. You can read more about the topic of menstrual poverty, its impact on school-age girls and how it can be addressed systemically in an article published czech only on the EDUin website.
