Discourse and Interaction

Discourse and Interaction is a linguistics journal committed to present the outcomes of current research into aspects of negotiation of meaning in language and related stylistic and socio-pragmatic variation.

The study of discourse and interaction is understood as research into language with relevance to real-world problems and its aim is to reveal the stylistic diversity, non-homogeneity, and socio-pragmatic variety of language as these should be reflected in the teaching of English in academic settings.

Since our aims is to provide a new opportunity to all those interested in linguistic research and to reflect the current and potential scope of the field while, we welcome contributions in the fields of discourse analysis, pragmatics, stylistics, semantics and other related disciplines. Some papers presented at the regular Brno Conference on Linguistics Studies in English held every other year may also be published in the journal.

The journal has adopted the following peer-reviewing procedures: All papers sent to Discourse and Interaction are first reviewed by the editors as to their suitability; then, they are sent to two reviewers who send back their detailed comments with recommendation to accept, suggest rewriting and resubmission, or reject. When resubmitted, the revised papers are sent out again to the original referees and to an additional reviewer.
